Online Workshop on ‘Open Source Legal Research’ by Virtual Law School|Register by Feb 6, 2022

About Virtual Law School

Virtual Law School (VLS) was founded during the national lockdown in April 2020. Since then VLS has facilitated law classes and critical thinking webinars/workshops for thousands of law students from across the country. VLS promotes easy and affordable access to legal education. Our Pro Bono Law Teachers and resource persons include Former Judges of the Supreme Court & High Courts, Senior Lawyers, Senior Law Professors, Vice-Chancellors, Registrars of NLUs, well-accomplished law scholars, foreign judges and professors, law firm and corporate professionals, and civil society subject experts. VLS works on a unique concept of donating pro bono teaching hours. Hence, all our resource persons teach on a pro bono basis. And VLS is registered as a not-for-profit organization under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.

About the Event

VLS invites you to a FREE Workshop on ‘Open Source Legal Research’. Legal research is critical for all law students. Not all law colleges provide access to e-databases and they are quite expensive. As a result, often thousands of law students who cannot afford the heavy fees of leading law schools seem to lag behind. This workshop primarily aims to help and support such law students in their pursuit of legal research.

No more relying on non-citable websites to cite court judgments, articles, or any form of legal literature. Lesser reliance on certain blogs while writing serious law articles or projects. Finding judgment from authentic sources and learning to cite one. And much more will be shared in this workshop. No one who cannot pay heavy law school fees or does not have access to expensive e-database shall be left behind. VLS aims to promote equality in legal research through this workshop. This workshop focuses on:

  • Case law search
  • Open source law journals
  • Open source articles
  • Non-citable websites
  • Plagiarism vs. Similarity Index & much more….
