September 17, 2022December 17, 2022 FICCI & CNLU organized a seminar on IP at CNLU Campus Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Legal Entrepreneurship (CIILE), Chanakya National Law University in collaboration with FICCI has organized a seminar on ‘Creation, Protection & Commercialisation of IP’ wherein the Vice-Chancellor, Justice (Retd.) Mridula Mishra has given a special address to the crowd on the ‘Importance of IP in the legal field and day-to-day activities. She also highlighted the importance of the IP culture to a country’s economic development, GDP & employment. The opening remark was given by Manoranjan Prasad Srivastava, District Judge (Retd.), Registrar, CNLU, Patna, who highlighted the importance of IP seminar in the university in law and business perspective. Such program on IP will help to understand the importance of innovation and its protection. Further he added such IPR seminar will help students to become better lawyers and a good businessman. [From Left to Right: Mr. Divyaish Srivastava, Mr. Sourabh Sachdeva & Mr. Anand Verma] Welcome remarks were given by Mr. Divyaish Srivastava, Assistant Director, FICCI; who highlighted the value & potential of IP and how to exploit IP using the right IP strategies for startups. He also highlighted on how IPR gives the upper hand competitive advantage over others. The technical session was started by Adv. Alok Jain, whose lecture was on ‘Basic concepts of IPR & Indian IP ecosystem, IP identification, IP creation, the economic significance of IPR & career in IP’. He also discussed case studies on IP which is beneficial to the entrepreneurs as well as the lawyers in IP domain. Other resource person CS Anand Verma highlighted how businesses benefitted by exploiting IP, to gain a competitive and monetary advantage. Further he added the importance of IP in digital era like content creation for social media. The other resource person is Mr. Sourabh Sachdeva, Founder, of IPEthicon. He has discussed IPTSE, IP Olympiad and how it will beneficial for students of law, working professionals and startup founders in getting hands on exposure in IP. Prior to this seminar, FICCI also conducted an IP Quiz On 14th September 2022 for the Students of CNLU for which the results were declared in this program. The winners of this quiz were Shubham Sharma (2nd Year), Arshita Anand (3rd Year), Aditya Raj (2nd Year), Parikshan Berry (5th Year), Kumar Utsav, Shrey Bhatnagar, Shivraj Singh Karnot, Ujjwal Singh (5th Year), Suryansh Beohar (2nd Year). The students who participated in this quiz & seminar were from BBA LL.B, B.A LL.B, LL.M. & Ph.D. scholars. FICCI & CIILE,CNLU are also looking forward sign a MoU which will be finalized in couple of months. The MoU will be in the area of Academic, Research & Training.
