Copyright & Licensing Policy

1. Purpose of This Policy

This Copyright & Licensing Policy explains the ownership, licensing, and permitted use of content published on LL.B Mania (https://llbmania.com/) and governs the rights and obligations of contributors, users, and third parties in relation to such content.

This Policy is to be read in conjunction with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Contributor Consent Notice of LL.B Mania.


2. Ownership of Platform Content

Unless otherwise stated:

  • All original content created by LL.B Mania, including but not limited to:
    • editorial articles,
    • platform branding,
    • logos, layout, design, graphics,
    • original research, compilations, and commentary,

is the exclusive intellectual property of LL.B Mania and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957, trademark laws, and other applicable laws.

No part of such content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, republished, or commercially exploited without prior written permission.


3. Ownership of Contributor Content

3.1 Retention of Copyright
Contributors retain copyright ownership over the original content submitted and published on LL.B Mania, subject to the licence granted under this Policy.

3.2 Author Attribution
Where content is published, LL.B Mania shall provide reasonable author attribution, including name and bio, unless anonymisation is requested or legally required.


4. Licence Granted to LL.B Mania by Contributors

By submitting content to LL.B Mania, contributors grant LL.B Mania a perpetual, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to:

  • publish, reproduce, host, store, display, and distribute the content;
  • edit, format, or adapt the content for clarity, compliance, or platform standards (without altering substantive meaning);
  • archive the content as part of the platform’s records;
  • promote the content across LL.B Mania’s website, social media channels, newsletters, podcasts, and other media;
  • allow non-commercial syndication or institutional referencing with attribution.

This licence survives removal of content, termination of accounts, or withdrawal of consent, to the extent permitted by law.


5. Republishing & Reuse by Contributors

Contributors may republish their content elsewhere subject to the following conditions:

  • LL.B Mania is credited as the original publisher;
  • a canonical link or clear attribution is provided;
  • such republication does not imply endorsement or partnership with LL.B Mania.

Exclusive publishing arrangements, if any, shall be governed by separate written agreements.


6. User-Generated Content & Comments

  • Users retain rights over their comments and submissions.
  • By posting such content, users grant LL.B Mania a limited licence to host, display, moderate, and remove such content in accordance with law.
  • LL.B Mania does not claim ownership over user comments.

7. Prohibited Use of Platform Content

Without prior written consent, users may not:

  • reproduce or redistribute content for commercial purposes;
  • scrape, aggregate, or data-mine content;
  • use content for training AI models or automated systems;
  • remove author attribution or copyright notices;
  • present LL.B Mania content as their own.

8. Third-Party Content & Fair Use

Some content may include quotations, case extracts, or references to third-party material used under:

  • fair dealing,
  • public domain access, or
  • lawful permissions.

Copyright in such third-party content remains with the respective rights holders.


9. Copyright Infringement & Takedown

LL.B Mania respects intellectual property rights.

If you believe that any content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice containing:

  • identification of the copyrighted work;
  • URL of the allegedly infringing content;
  • proof of ownership or authorisation;
  • contact details and a declaration of good faith.

Valid notices will be addressed in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021.


10. Editorial Removal & Archival Rights

LL.B Mania reserves the right to:

  • remove or disable access to content that violates law or platform policies;
  • retain archived copies for legal, academic, or record-keeping purposes.

Such actions do not affect the underlying licence already granted.


11. No Transfer of Ownership

Except as expressly stated, nothing in this Policy shall be construed as transferring ownership of intellectual property from LL.B Mania or contributors to users or third parties.


12. Policy Updates

This Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.


13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
